Garage Door Repair and Installation in Vaughan: Woodbridge, Maple and Kleinburg
Vaughan is next door to us. Our shop is on Yorkland Street in Richmond Hill, a short drive from Maple, and Vaughan is one of the places we work most. It is also a city where the garage door you have depends heavily on when your street was built, so the problems we see in Woodbridge are not the same as the ones in Vellore or Kleinburg.
Woodbridge: big double doors with decades of use
Much of Woodbridge was built through the 1980s and 1990s, and a lot of those homes still have the door the builder installed, or a replacement from twenty years ago. A standard torsion spring is rated for roughly ten thousand open-and-close cycles. On a busy household that is used up in eight to twelve years, so many Woodbridge doors are on their second or third set of springs, often with the original cables, rollers and bearings still on them.
What that looks like in practice: a spring that snaps with a bang, a cable that frays and lets one side of the door drop, rollers worn flat that grind in the track, and older chain-drive openers working far harder than they should because the door is out of balance. When we replace springs on a door like this we check the whole system, because a new spring on a door with a fraying cable is a second call waiting to happen.
Maple and Vellore: builder-grade doors reaching their limit
The subdivisions of Maple, Vellore Village and Patterson went up from the late 1990s into the 2010s, mostly with builder-grade doors: thin, often uninsulated steel on light-duty hardware. They work fine for years, and then everything starts to go at once. First spring failure, a noisy opener, dents from a basketball or a bumper that never quite came out.
Many of these homes also have a bedroom or bonus room over the garage, which is where an uninsulated door is felt most, in a cold floor every winter. If that sounds familiar, it is worth reading whether an insulated door is worth it for your garage before you replace anything.
Kleinburg and estate homes: heavier, custom doors
Kleinburg, Nashville and the larger lots around them have carriage-style doors, wood-look overlays, three-car and side-load garages, and oversized openings. These doors are much heavier than a standard double, and they need springs sized to their actual weight. One of the most common faults we find on custom doors is a spring sized off a chart for an ordinary door. The result is a door that will not stay where you put it and an opener that wears out early.
Custom openings also mean replacement doors are measured and ordered, not pulled off a shelf. That takes a little longer, but you end up with a door built for your opening.

Text us two photos: the door from outside, and the door from inside showing the springs, tracks and opener. That is usually enough to tell you what is wrong and what it will take. Here is what actually moves the price of a new door.
